TATTOO REVIEWS
When I saw Megan’s fierce tiger cub design I knew I had to have it. I absolutely love cats and this tattoo is the perfect combination of cute and ferocious at the same time. I try and get a tattoo by Megan every time she tours Canada because her work is amazing. The quality of the tattoo is immaculate. The consultation process was straightforward and any questions I had were answered promptly. It was honestly a little overwhelming when I saw the stencil on my leg as I knew it meant a lot of work, but I was very excited to have it done. The tattoo experience was great. I either read a book or watched videos on my phone. It was a very relaxing atmosphere in the studio, so it allowed me to kind of meditate through the marathon of a tattoo I was getting. Megan's work always exceeds my expectations — and even though I know she's an extremely talented artist, I am continuously blown away by the end result (I have had multiple tattoos by her). I really enjoy my tattoo and the placement because now I enjoy wearing shorts or dresses in the summer so I can show off my tattoo! The tattoo itself was initially just aesthetic, and I got it because I really like cats. But now it's a reminder for me to be fierce in many things I do, especially being a woman in the work force. I might look sweet and innocent, but I have integrity and will stand up for myself. I've gotten so many comments on my tattoo when it's visible — everyone loves it. The whole process has always been easy as Megan is great to work with. Thanks again!

I had been looking to get a forearm floral tattoo for a few years, when I finally came across the realism work of Megan Allard on Instagram. I was absolutely amazed! I could never quite find a tattooist who could create roses the way that I had envisioned them, but a Megan was talented enough to create a custom black and grey masterpiece on my body that I am so proud to display! Throughout the whole process, Megan was incredibly helpful, suggesting lots of flowers that would look good with my piece. She showed me many examples and was able to alter the arrangement to suit the shape of my arm and my design preferences. She was even able to skilfully create my tattoo around pre-existing tattoos in a way that looks neat and beautiful. The lines are crisp and the shading is flawless! My tattoo is purely aesthetic, however, I will always look at my tattoo and think of my Nonno, who adored roses and gardening. I will also be adding some ‘forget me not’ flowers to the arrangement, in future, to symbolise two miscarriages that I have gone through recently. Megan is also a wonderful person to talk to whilst getting tattooed. She is incredibly down to earth and relatable and was calm and patient the whole time. I am so pleased with how my tattoo turned out and get compliments on it daily! The process was smooth and responses were timely. The only annoying thing is that because Megan is so talented, her time slots are limited and fill up speedily! I can’t wait to extend my arm piece to my shoulder!

This was the first art-piece of Megan’s that I saw, and immediately fell in love with the balance of beauty and power; her creativity and style was on full display. I was drawn to her use of negative space to create the actual crown, which not only looked ethereal as a drawing, but came out even better on skin. During the actual consultation process when we were discussing what we thought looked good, we ended up changing the design slightly to add a bit of red, which really brought out a vulnerability to it, and really completes the artwork to make it pop. Not only that, but the actual facial details of the woman (and especially her piercing eyes, and the smaller intricate details of her nose-ring) are incredibly intricate. About the artist and the experiences: I have nothing but good things to say about Megan. Compassionate, hardworking, and honest, she is always willing to discuss and support new ideas and endeavors. From the early stages of putting pen to paper, to adding the final touches of a multi-hour session, Megan is not only a consummate professional, but a good friend who will make sure that you are well taken care of, and I can't wait to work together again on our next projects!

Megan designed my custom tattoo with a professional consult. I shared pictures I had collected showing aspects that I wanted to incorporate in my tattoo. Megan visualised and her input was spot on. The backstory for my piece of body art was to represent life in regards to a snake — shedding its skin, representing getting rid of what no longer serves you. This is a recurring life adaption. The flowers were added to pretty it up with colour and bring it to life more. The tattoo quality is amazingly realistic body art, that I cannot fault. Megan’s professionalism and attention to detail instilled trust and confidence right from the start. When I first saw my design I was so happy. I absolutely love my tattoo and am very proud to have such a work of art on my body. My body art is absolutely beautiful, unlike no other piece I have seen and that is an important aspect to me — uniqueness! Every time I look at my tattoo it makes me smile, feeling cooler than cool. :P And to the people I have shown, they have shared how amazing they think the realism artwork is.

I was blown away by the fine detail and overall design of my peregrine falcon. I wanted a piece of art on my arm, something both sophisticated and intricate, and Megan did a truly amazing job. From initial consultation to wrapping up my new tattoo, Megan’s professionalism and warm manner made it a really fun experience.

Out of the various custom tattoos I’ve gotten over they years, I can say with confidence that the two I’ve gotten from Megan have been some of the best, not only in the quality of the tattoo but also in the very process of getting everything done. Megan took the sketches/ideas that I provided and expanded upon them in such a manner that only ever enhanced what I had originally come to her with. She also took any questions and suggestions seriously, and kept the process as a whole clear and easy to follow. I tend to get anxious around new people but Megan’s friendly personality genuinely made things so easy and enjoyable that by the end of the first consultation I was excited to continue, and by the end of getting the first one completed I was entirely at ease and ready and willing to do more. Both tattoos are spectacular (in my humble opinion) and are the ones that others tend to complement and comment on the most (including random delivery people and janitors). The colours in my Botanical Cobra sleeve are subtle and gorgeous and the details in the ferns of my other one are nothing short of amazing. All in all 10/10! I would, and have, absolutely recommended her to anyone who asks and I look forward to getting to work with her again ^_^

Megan is an amazing artist! Was blown away by the realism and attention to detail. Very professional and everything was sterile and clean like it should be. Would definitely recommend her to anyone wanting new ink! Ps. Come back to Canada so I can get more ink!!

Megan’s beautiful art style drew me without question, I absolutely could not resist getting a piece, let alone sharing her designs with some friends — who also got some work done with her too! Megan is a wonderful person, great to talk to and an absolute pleasure to work with. The long session was a breeze and the Ocelot remains one of my favourite tattoos to date. I can’t wait to get another piece from her!

I had always wanted a realistic trash polka style sleeve and after showing Megan what I wanted, she came up with this amazing design and the rest is history. Super happy and easily my favourite tattoo, Megan is such an amazing artist and person.

I believe this was our first collaborative effort, as it was something custom that wasn't on Megan’s website. She turned my hazy dream into her own clear vision, and the result was our Space Explorer. I've always loved the idea of outer-space and exploring the final frontiers, but since I'll probably never be an astronaut, this is the next best thing! I think we got the actual concept down right away, and again, I LOVED the way she used negative space to create and shape the astronaut and her gear, while adding a colourful splash to the cosmos.

I am a hairstylist and have been doing hair for 11 years. Hair is my absolute passion, so naturally I wanted scissors for one of my pieces. Of course EVERY stylist has a scissors tattoo, so I needed something unlike anyone else. I spoke to Megan about about the position and decided on the forearm because it is most visible to clients while doing hair. We perused pictures of scissors together and chose my favourite ones. As an artist myself, I know it’s best to let the artist work. So I left it to Megan to make it unique. That’s when she came up with the incredible concept of the scissors being the stem of a rose. I am so in love with it and enjoy seeing it in the mirror every day. <3

Megan did an excellent job capturing the beauty of a mountain lion for my very first piece. She made me feel comfortable throughout the process and the finished product was so great I can’t imagine going to anybody else down the road! Her work, her care and her creativity are amazing. Not just that, but she a great person to spend time chatting with. Two thumbs up!’

This tattoo is of my late cat, Jess. Loving all of Megan's precious cat portraits I was willing to give her full artistic freedom with this design. During the consultation, she asked lots of questions about my cat to understand her nature and character, which she was able to portray beautifully in the tattoo. She made her design align well with my existing ornamental tattoos on my leg so that all of the art work flowed together. When she showed me the design, I was just so taken aback by how perfectly she had captured my cat's expression. I am just in love with this tattoo and makes my heart smile whenever I see it on me. My family were just so happy to see this tattoo and all said they could see Jess shine through in the tattoo. I have had so many people stop me to ask about this tattoo or whisper about how great it is when walking behind me. The highlights in her eyes, the negative space work in her fur texture, the stylised fur movement and the beautiful designed ornamental frame are just some of the things I adore about this tattoo! Cannot wait to get more tattoos from Megan! She is such a beautiful soul who takes care of her clients and puts everything into her work.

After hearing about Megan’s work through a friend, I spotted a pair of matching designs on her website and I instantly fell in love — it was like the pieces were made for me! Years later, they are still my favourite tattoos!

At this point, I felt that "tattoo addiction" we always hear about, and just wanted to get more awesome Megan Allard artwork on my skin. I'm not a religious person, but my entire family is, so the idea of getting a seductive evil nun was ironic to me. A struggle of temptation in the shroud of religion. Again, I love how she used negative space for her halo, as it draws the eyes to her; a burst of light surrounded by darkness, a bloodied inverted cross. A duality.

I've always wanted to get a rose tattoo and as soon as I saw Megan's design, I knew this was the one! It sits proudly on my forearm for me and everyone to admire. First/only colour piece on my brown skin and has healed really well — makes me want more colour on my skin. Thanks Megan!

I wanted a tattoo to mark my 30th anniversary with my husband. I gave Megan a difficult task – I wanted two big cat heads nuzzling but not the same species. It was meant to denote that while my husband and I were very much alike, we were different. He chose the Snow Leopard; I chose a Lynx. I think it came out beautifully, don’t you? Everyone that sees it is astonished at how detailed it is. One person remarked she could almost reach out and pet them, sometimes I do; the skin is very soft in that area. Some who have seen it have even booked a tattoo with Megan after, one was for a beloved pet. My husband is gone now but I can see him in this tattoo. I smile every time I see it. :)
